Get your Obama Hat!

As you probably know Barack Obama’s inauguration as president of the USA will be January 20, 2009. Coming soon.

There has been a lot of Obama mania. It is exciting that we have the first African-American US President and it is an historic moment. There are a lot of memorabilia collectors out there and there are a lot of people who want to have something to remember the event.

On the Cafe Press site there are tens of thousands of designs for various products, T shirts, mugs, and more importantly hats. Sadly they are only baseball caps and truckers hats but what the heck – it’s a hat.

There are a lot of creative people out there. Some have done a great job at designing official looking January 20 stuff. I like the Barack is in the house one (the White House). There are many other supportive sentiments such as “Obama Mama”, Vietnam Vets for Obama, Hockey Mum for Obama (not Sarah Palin by implication), Canadians for Obama (there have been surveys in Canada showing the support of a substantial majority of Canadians for Obama), and of course Kenyans for Obama (referring to his father’s heritage).

They still have the stuff from the election on file. If you want to be a grinch. You can get some anti Obama stuff too. I like political satire. One I noted was a picture of Obama and Hillary Clinton with the captions “Dumb”and “Dumber” respectively (from the John Candy movie). Another graphic shows Obama with a gangster hat “ObamaHood”- “Spread the Wealth Around”. You may ask after the 40% hair cut in the stock market – what wealth? Check out the link below.
