How to turn your bicycle helmet into a hat creation

by hatrevivalist on April 3, 2009

Would you like to turn your bicycle helmet into a stylish hat and stay protected?  In our modern times we quite rightly have laws requiring head protection. Such laws were not in effect years ago and falls on the head lead to serious injury and even death. If you are a macho Sportsman you might think that a helmet is cool. Perhaps you are interested in making the look more feminine?

I was at the One of a Kind show in Toronto today and of course I was looking for interesting Milliners to follow. There are many possibilities going forward.

I came across Snug as a Bug. It’s a store that has cool clothing for kids and some cool stuff for adults as well. They have the coolest bicycle helmet covers – very funky.

Here are a couple of the covers (reproduced by permission).

These helmet covers are great! I also found a site that has some fun ones. My kids loved these: http://www.helmetzoo.com. I have helmet covers for all my kids and they love them! The covers are a great way to encourage kids to wear their helmets.

Thanks for the additional reference and you make a great point about getting kids to wear their helmets it is very important. Remember Natasha Richardson’s “little’ski accident – a minor fall caused her death – it was very upsetting.
