I recently found this lovely picture on a Cabinet Card. She appears to be with child. From the clothing and hat style the picture is from the late Victorian period I believe. It could also be from the early Edwardian period also. In any case it is very unusual to find a picture of a woman with child from this period. It would not have been considered appropriate in many circles. I would be interested in your comments on this photograph and any observations relative to the dress and the hat in particular.
The large feather is quite a statement is it not?
